I finally got the design drawn for my painting. I had some difficulties with getting the sizes just right but as you can see from my image i am still having troubles with that.
You have a great design started here. You have created a great sense of repetition and balance throughout the sketch. You have a lot of detail in your picture so I would make sure that you have good brushes to use. If you only have large brushes with hard bristles you may have difficulty with this one. Let me know if you need me to send any brushes or paint color out to you. Some things that you should remember is that with Norval's work he used solid colors throughout the painting. There is no shading going on. This should help to make things a bit easier when adding color. Just add one solid color per section.
When choosing your colors I would limit yourself to the amount that you use. I would also try to stick with bright colors so limiting yourself to just primary and secondary colors may help your picture to stand out as well.
A good idea would be to take a piece of paper and then experiment with some of your paint colors until you find no more than 5 that you think work well together. I think a bright white would work well to create an emphasis or contrast with the bright colors. I was thinking of white in the swirls that are common to each section. Once you have chosen your colors you can start adding them to the art work remembering to create a sense of balance with them.
The other thing that I noticed is at the top of this picture there is no dividing line. I would suggest either adding in a horizontal dividing line to balance with the bottom or continue the vertical lines going up. This will help when putting your solid colors in each area.
