pop art research

pop art is an art movement that came about in Britain in the mid 1950's and later 1950's in the united states. Pop art was a response to "the commercial and consumer society of modern time". Some of the first artists to make pop art pieces were: Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Claes Oldenburg, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Hamilton, Robert Rauschenberg, George Segal.
Jasper John:
Jasper John was the first painter/sculptor to receive a Presidential Medal of Freedom. He received this medal from president Barrack Obama himself. Jasper John is best known for his famous painting, Flag, his inspiration for this piece was a dream of the american flag.
George Segal:
George Segal was famous for his life size cast figures. He started off doing his figures by plastering bandages onto a model and cutting the bandages off to then re-plaster them together to form a cast shell. These figures were often white or monochrome colored. He slowly changed to doing some in a bronze color.
This stunning image was drawn by Tee Buzz in the style of Roy Lichtenstein. This image he girl has long flowing hair, long, thick eyelashes, as her eyes brim over with tears. the use of dots adds a great overall affect to the emotion of the image.

I could not find any information on this piece of art work. I like this piece though because it is done up of the famous singer Rihana. I like her music so i naturally liked this image i found.
