Aboriginal Painting Self Reflectrion

  1. What is the main idea you were trying to express in your project? What were your intentions? I just wanted to express that my family willl always go on even though we don't fully see eye to eye on alot of things.
  2. How did you use the elements and principles of art throughout your art work? Talk about how you used the elements of design (line, shape, form, space, value, texture, color) in your project to achieve the following (where applicable): balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, contrast, unity. For the color i tried to pick kind of eye catching colors that constantly changed so the viewer would never be bored, I used alot of space and soe texture is visible like in the trees branches. I had a bit of rhythm going with the way things kept on having a wave motion.
  3. What methods did you use to develop your ideas? For example, did you brainstorm, create a concept map, research, improvise, try different materials or techniques, etc? I did some research on different symbols and their meanings.
  4. Did you take risks by trying something new? Explain. Yes, I have never done an aboriginal painting before and so this project all on its own was a risk for me.
  5. What were some of the unexpected problems that you had to solve while you were working? I had to make the branches on the trees shorter so they would not hit the objects in between the trees.
  6. What decisions and choices did you make to help solve these problems? I just made the branches smaller.
  7. What was the most interesting or challenging thing about what you did? The most challenging was the color choices i had to make and the basic design itself.
  8. What have you learned from this particular project? That aboiginal art is very hard to do because it takes alot of mind and soul blending and focus to make it turn out just right.
  9. What did you do outside of class to enrich the project? I did research and talked to some artist in my family (not famous ones).
  10. If you were to experience this project again what would you change or do differently? I would choose an easier concept to do.
  11. Describe a new project/activity that might grow out of the one in which you just participated? I can not think of one this time, other then maybe a short video or stop-motion on the aboriginal culture.

Final Project Self Evaluation

  1. What is the main idea you were trying to express in your project? What were your intentions? I was trying to express how a child thinks, mainly a child's imagination.
  2. How did you use the elements and principles of art throughout your art work? Talk about how you used the elements of design (line, shape, form, space, value, texture, color) in your project to achieve the following (where applicable): balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, contrast, unity. I tried to follow a color scheme and also just to plain out be creative and free not really wanting to fallow any certain guide lines, I just wanted to let my mind be free.
  3. What methods did you use to develop your ideas? For example, did you brainstorm, create a concept map, research, improvise, try different materials or techniques, etc? I just looked at my nephews and little cousins i started to think like a kid and think about what would look fun and different.
  4. Did you take risks by trying something new? Explain. Yes, I was scared as to how it would turn out but i think it turned out ok considering it got me really frustrated.
  5. What were some of the unexpected problems that you had to solve while you were working? My balloons continually popping and eventually running out of certain types of balloons causing me to rethink my game plan.
  6. What decisions and choices did you make to help solve these problems? I looked through all the other balloons for other ones that would work in the places of the ones i needed.
  7. What was the most interesting or challenging thing about what you did? The most challenging thing I found was getting the balloons to stay in place.
  8. What have you learned from this particular project? That balloons may be fun but are really hard to work with.
  9. What did you do outside of class to enrich the project? I thought a lot about how a child might look at things along with looked at a lot of children books and toys for ideas.
  10. If you were to experience this project again what would you change or do differently? I would try the other option we had rather then doing the chair or else i would build the chair right from scratch using different materials.
  11. Describe a new project/activity that might grow out of the one in which you just participated? I think sculpting a larger more detailed thing would grow out of this project.

Final Project Images

Stop And Reflect #3

My final issues were figuring out how to make the chair seem more like a childhood chair and to show their imagination. I looked around and noticed my baby nephews toys and decided i would add them onto the chair to make it look more like a children's chair. I tried many things but finally got it all to work out.

Stop And Reflect #2

I lost the majority of the balloons needed for what i was going to do but figured out a way to make it all work. My next trouble was the balloons would not stay down with the tape, they kept popping off making me restick them to the chair before I took the picture causing it to take more time.

Stop and Reflect #1

I had troubles with balloons popping during this first part here. I would nicely get them into place and then they would pop.

3D Pop Art Self Evaluation

  1. What is the main idea you were trying to express in your project? What were your intentions? I wanted to base my project on kind of fun and how anything can be used to make art.
  2. What methods did you use to develop your ideas? For example, did you brainstorm, create a concept map, research, improvise, try different materials or techniques, etc? I just played around with balloons and different things around the the house till i finally put it all together. I tried making balloon figures to hang from the mobile but my twists in the balloons would not stay so it didn't work for me.
  3. Did you take risks by trying something new? Explain. I took risks of making myself deff with all those balloons  poping haha.
  4. What were some of the unexpected problems that you had to solve while you were working? I had to figure out how to make the top balloon stay on the plate because it kept popping off the top.
  5. What decisions and choices did you make to help solve these problems? I realized that tape would work to hold th balloon in place, that and my sister gave the tape idea away.
  6. What was the most interesting or challenging think about what you did? The most interesting this was when i realized how much fun i had playing with the balloons and the challenging thing was popping holes in the paper plate because it kept breaking.
  7. What have you learned from this particular project? I have learned you can truly use anything and try to use things that will stay together better.
  8. What did you do outside of class to enrich the project? I attempted many online tutorials on making balloon figures and i failed misserably.

pop art research

pop art is an art movement that came about in Britain in the mid 1950's and later 1950's in the united states. Pop art was a response to "the commercial and consumer society of modern time". Some of the first artists to make pop art pieces were: Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Claes Oldenburg, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Hamilton, Robert Rauschenberg, George Segal.
Jasper John:
Jasper John was the first painter/sculptor to receive a Presidential Medal of Freedom. He received this medal from president Barrack Obama himself. Jasper John is best known for his famous painting, Flag, his inspiration for this piece was a dream of the american flag.
George Segal:
George Segal was famous for his life size cast figures. He started off doing his figures by plastering bandages onto a model and cutting the bandages off to then re-plaster them together to form a cast shell. These figures were often white or monochrome colored. He slowly changed to doing some in a bronze color.
This stunning image was drawn by Tee Buzz in the style of Roy Lichtenstein. This image he girl has long flowing hair, long, thick eyelashes, as her eyes brim over with tears. the use of dots adds a great overall affect to the emotion of the image.

I could not find any information on this piece of art work. I like this piece though because it is done up of the famous singer Rihana. I like her music so i naturally liked this image i found.

T-Shirt Design

What is the main idea you were trying to express in your project? What were your intentions? I was trying to get the point of how facebook is so hugely known in the world today. There is rarely anyone left without a facebook account (not including young children). What methods did you use to develop your ideas? For example, did you brainstorm, create a concept map, research, improvise, try different materials or techniques, etc?
I just thought about what people today are most into and it turned out to be facebook. I researched alot of different pictures i could use and i played around with GIMP and changed my design several times.
Did you take risks by trying something new? Explain.
I never really knew how to use GIMP and still hardly do haha so i tried something new by using it.
What were some of the unexpected problems that you had to solve while you were working?
I was having alot of troubles trying to figure out how stuff worked on GIMP.
What decisions and choices did you make to help solve these problems?
I just told myself to keep trying even if it was getting on my nerves.
What was the most interesting or challenging thing about what you did?
I love editing pictures so it interested me with all the different things i could do on GIMP.
What have you learned from this particular project?
That not all editing sites are easy to use and also that it really is crazy how many people like and use facebook all over the world.
What did you do outside of class to enrich the project?
I browsed my facebook page. :)
If you were to experience this project again what would you change or do differently?
I would choose different pictures to use probabily and do a totally different concept.
Describe a new project/activity that might grow out of the one in which you just participated?
Painting different types of things like murals or logos and who knows maybe even just plain old photo editing different images.

Popart Image :)

What is the main idea you were trying to express in your project? What were your intentions?
I just wanted to express how I love bright flashy colors and that bright things tend to make people feel a lot happier about who they are and about their life.
What methods did you use to develop your ideas? For example, did you brainstorm, create a concept map, research, improvise, try different materials or techniques, etc?
I watched the tutorial and then just went crazy and had fun.
Did you take risks by trying something new? Explain.
I took a risk by trying out GIMP haha I have never used it till now.
What were some of the unexpected problems that you had to solve while you were working?
I goofed up doing the blending of layers a few times but finally got it right and all figured out.
What decisions and choices did you make to help solve these problems?
I just kept on going back to the tutorial till I got it figured out.
What was the most interesting or challenging think about what you did?
I found it challenging to get the colors to fallow the lines just right and to make sure that the black outlines weren’t too light or too dark.
What have you learned from this particular project?
That GIMP has a lot of different things that can be done to it.
What did you do outside of class to enrich the project?
I browsed different pages of pop art and different pages of jack skellington outfits.
If you were to experience this project again what would you change or do differently?
I would choose a more difficult image so that I can add a lot more colors.
Describe a new project/activity that might grow out of the one in which you just participated?
Maybe a painting of pop art, it would be a very good challenge to get it to look just right.
